The Indiana Organization for Nursing Leadership announces Cathy Wichman, MSN, RN as the new CEO.
Cathy has 19 years of nursing experience, with 17 years in nursing leadership. Cathy started her nursing career as a medical-surgical nurse, and quickly grew into a leader for multiple departments over her career including all nursing areas, clinics, pharmacy, behavioral health, lab, cardiopulmonary, sleep services and wound care. Additionally, she teaches Nursing Leadership courses to senior nursing students and when time allows, she teaches CNA students. She holds a Master’s degree in Nursing Leadership and Management, is certified as a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, and has a Nursing Certification in medical-surgical care. Cathy has served on the IONL board in multiple capacities for many years and is active in several other nursing specific organizations. Cathy enjoys spending time with her family, going to the beach, boating, watching sports and being a Mimi to her newly born granddaughter, Anna.
Bringing years of proven nursing leadership experience she will work with healthcare leaders and affiliates both across the state and nationally to serve the IONL mission. Cathy will focus on education, public policy, advocacy, career development and enhancing member engagement and thought leadership.
She will begin the position June 26. Please welcome Cathy to her position as CEO of IONL!
